January 24, 1848 + Sutter's Mill + James W. Marshall = GOLD RUSH!
The discovery of gold nuggets at Sutter's Mill sparked a nation-wide, frenzied excitement that drove hundreds of thousands of fortune seekers to the stream beds of California. These hopeful prospectors didn't know exactly what they'd find, but their fervent desire for the golden treasure motivated and compelled them to make the journey out west.
While gold fever isn't prevalent any longer in our nation, the beckoning of something more, something "out there" drives many to leave behind the status quo to chase a calling. This soap's a reminder of those prospectors of old (as well as their contemporaries) who have gone to great, and sometimes extreme, lengths in pursuit of a dream.
Scent Notes: Gold Rush is one of those soaps that we'd classify as an anamoly....it didn't behave as normal soaps do, either in it's making nor it's curing. However, we're thrilled with the end result! What started out as a cologne-based scent has mellowed and shifted to more of a pure, fresh, clean, "simple soap" smell. Gold Rush offers a nice, refreshing, wake-up scent.
